May 27,2025 (Tigrai Mass Media Agency)-A delegation of representatives from donor and partner countries visited the Adi Berak Demobilization Center to assess the ongoing demobilization and reintegration efforts under Ethiopia’s Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) program.

Led by Basil Masi, Director of DDR at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the delegation included officials from 11 supporting nations and organizations, such as Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and the European Union.

Speaking during the visit, Masi emphasized that the DDR process in Tigray is jointly implemented by the federal and regional governments of Ethiopia, in partnership with the international donor community.

Asay Gebremedhin, Coordinator of the Adi Berak Demobilization Center, reported that the facility has been receiving approximately 200 trainees per day since it began operations on April 25, 2025.The trainees are expected to return to their communities with the aim of achieving sustainable livelihoods and reintegrating into civilian life.
