#Tigray IRA President Getachew Reda strongly dismissed a report by “The Reporter”, refuting claims that the administration is seeking federal intervention in the region. The President’s statement comes in response to an article published by The Reporter, which suggested that the Tigray Interim Administration had initiated legislative efforts to call for federal involvement.

“Just for the record: no legislation has been initiated or effort made by the Tigray Interim Administration to call for federal intervention. Period! Check if this report indeed is from The Reporter,” President Getachew wrote on X(formerly Twitter) late today.

The article earlier today alleged that the Tigray Interim Administration was preparing to request federal involvement to address ongoing challenges in the region.

“The Tigray Interim Administration has moved to enshrine legislation that would allow the federal government to intervene in the region in what analysts say is a bid to consolidate its power amid growing political tensions.” Said the report by The Reporter.

However, President Getachew’s statement has cast doubt on the accuracy of the report, prompting widespread discussion.

As of now, The Reporter has not issued a response to President Getachew’s statement.
