November 18, 2024 (Tigray Mass Media Agency) —Salsay Weyane Tigray has strongly condemned the renewed threats of violence issued by the illegal authorities occupying Western Tigray. Despite an agreement mandating the dismantling of this administration, it continues to incite violence against Tigrayan civilians, leaving millions displaced and living in devastating humanitarian conditions.
The party emphasized that the leaders of these unlawful civil and security apparatuses in Western Tigray are international criminals responsible for the massacre of thousands of Tigrayans and the forced displacement of over one million people. These leaders have now openly threatened to escalate atrocities if discussions on the return of displaced populations proceed.
Amid widespread calls for an end to hostilities and the swift facilitation of displaced persons’ return, Salsay Weyane Tigray criticized the Ethiopian government for failing to cooperate and for its actions that have complicated efforts to resolve the crisis.
“We strongly condemn these repeated threats, which endanger the fragile peace,” Salsay Weyane Tigray said. “We demand the Federal Government take immediate action to silence its hostile allies, withdraw them from the region, and ensure the safe and dignified return of millions of displaced Tigrayans without delay.”
This statement comes as millions of Tigrayans continue to face severe hardships inside IDP camps in different parts of Tigray.
