Displaced Tigrayans residing in the Tenedba refugee camp of Sudan holds large-scale peaceful demonstration today July 17, 2025. The protesters called on international humanitarian organizations to address their worsening living conditions and provide immediate food and medical assistance.

The demonstrators, many of whom have been disconnected from their reintegration units since the signing of the Pretoria Peace Agreement, voiced their grievances over the stalled implementation of the accord. They stated that despite the peace agreement, they continue to endure severe humanitarian hardship in Sudanese camps, marked by critical shortages of essential supplies.

During the protest, participants emphasized that the lack of food and medical support has led to increasing fatalities within the camps. They urged the international community to intervene swiftly, warning that without sustainable solutions and repatriation to their designated areas, the crisis will only deepen.

According to numerous reports, over 400 individuals have died in the Tenedba camps alone, while the total death toll across all camps sheltering displaced Tigrayans since the Pretoria Agreement has surpassed 770—largely due to illness and inadequate living conditions.

The protesters reiterated their plea for urgent humanitarian aid and a durable solution aligned with the Pretoria Agreement, including safe return and reintegration into their communities.
