Mekelle, Tigrai Feb. 16, 2022 (Tigrai Television) – Interim Government Establishing Committee says the establishment of Interim Government has ‘a key role’ in ensuring the stability and security of the people of Tigrai and in returning Tigrian constitutional territory back to the region.
Speaking to local Media on Wednesday, member of the committee Gen. Tadesse Werede says the committee will discuss with the representatives of political parties and other stake holders. He adds the committee will come up with a charter to establish the interim government. “Having the charter, we will finally discuss with the federal government” he noted.
“The process is a golden opportunity to change our political culture” added the General.
Gen. Tadesse also called upon the peoples of Ethiopia to support the establishment of the Interim Government in Tigrai.
The establishing committee that comprises of high ranking officials of the Tigrai Defense Forces, Scholars as well as representatives of the ruling party- TPLF has been declined by SAWET, one of the opposition parties based in Tigrai, putting the inclusiveness and neutrality of the members in question.
