A delegation from the Israeli Parliamentary Committee of Ethiopia-Israel Friendship, led by Moshe Solomon, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, arrived in Mekelle today for a three-day visit.
Upon their arrival at Mekelle Alula Abanega International Airport, the delegation was received by Tigray IRA President Getachew Reda.
President Getachew shared on his X account this afternoon, “Today I met with a delegation of the Israeli parliamentary committee of Ethiopia-Israeli friendship led by Knesset member @Moshe_solomon_ in Mekelle.”
“The delegation is here for a three-day visit to explore areas of cooperation with Ethiopia, focusing on Tigray, particularly in agriculture, technology, and emergency aid. Additionally, they will meet with relevant authorities in Tigray and visit various parts of the region as part of their mission.” He elaborated.
Speaking at a media briefing in Tigrigna, the official language of the region, Head of the delegation Moshe Solomon expressed his happiness to be in Tigray, reminiscing about his childhood spent there.
The delegation, consisting of six members of the Israeli Parliament, engaged in discussions with heads of different sectors in Tigray.
On Wednesday, the Deputy Speaker and his delegation are scheduled to travel to the northwestern zone of Tigray where they conclude their visit.
