IDPs from Western Tigrai rally against Eritrean forces and Amhara forces to leave areas they occupy.

Demonstrations engulfed the war-torn region as demonstrators call for the withdrawal of Eritrean forces and Amhara forces from Western Tigrai & other areas they forcibly occupy.

Adigrat, Adwa, Abyi Adi, Shire, and the capital Mekelle have also witnessed the biggest rally in years.

Demonstrators all over the towns have also asked for the resumption of suspended aid as the suffering of the IDPs aggravated.

The IDPs also called on the federal government and the regional administration for an immediate return to their homelands. ” We want to farm and live. We don’t want to continue waiting for aid”, a banner in the demonstration in Mekelle reads.

They also called upon the international community to meticulously observe the implementation of the Pretoria agreement that stipulates the withdrawal of foreign Eritrean forces and Amhara regional militias from Tigrai.
