Office of the president of the interim regional administration of Tigrai condemns the deadly crack down on deportation of the religious father Aba Sereqebirhan Weldesamuel calling the act racial discrimination and unconstitutional.

In its statement earlier today, the interim administration states, prominent religious father Aba Sereqebirhan, was deported from Ethiopia after he had been kidnapped for four days at Bole International Airport while he was heading from Australia to Tigray to visit and grant humanitarian aid that has been contributed by Tigrain community in Australia.

The Interim regional administration of Tigray underscores this is not only an individual’s human right violation, but the continuation of atrocities on Tigrian identity recalling multiple acts that have been committed on Tigrains for years.

The statement reiterates, the constitution of FDRE vividly stipulates any Ethiopian, with in national territory, has the right to free movement adding that deportation is not a punishment under the country’s law.
