Mekelle, Jul 16 (Tigrai Television) Election Convention of new Episcopates is being held in Axum, central Tigrai.#Tigray Orthodox Tewahdo Church the See of Selama Kesate Birhan released the slate of candidates on Saturday.
100 members of the See including 2 female members voted for 10 from 26 candidates.Residents of the town of Axum are eagerly waiting for the result of the election convention.Speaking to our reporters on the ground, residents of Axum say the formation of the new structure and the ordination of new episcopates will support the faithful to worship in their own language.Votes are being counted by the election committee of the ordination.
The committee is expected to announce the 10 episcopate-elects in a few hours.Elected episcopates will serve five dioceses in Tigrai and five dioceses of the See of Selama Kesate Birhan abroad.
