President Getachew Reda discussed with UN delegation led by UN delegation led by UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement Robert Piper at his office this morning.
The delegation led by Robert Piper includes UN Ethiopia chief Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov and representatives of UN agencies in Ethiopia.During the discussion, President Getachew stated that over a million of IDPs in Tigray are living at a critical situation.
He calls on the UN officials to do what they are able to do to what he call “the most daunting” issue in the region.Special Adviser Robert Piper on his part said returning IDPs back to their places is one of the key priorities of the UN in Ethiopia.
The UN delegation is expected to visit 4 IDP sites in 70 care IDP center this noon.
