United States Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Mike Hammer touched down at Mekelle Alula Abanega International Airport.
The special envoy is accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson. Both are expected to meet leaders of the Tigrai Interim Administration.
On his first joint mission to Mekelle in August of last year, U.S Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Mike Hammer came to the regional capital Mekelle, along with EU Special Envoy Annetta Weber to encourage the start of talks between Tigrian Authorities and the Ethiopian Federal Government.
U.S. is one of the observers of the Pretoria agreement signed November 2, 2022, between TPLF and the Ethiopian Federal Government.
