Mekelle, Jun 5, 2023 (Tigrai Television)- United States’ Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Amb. Mike Hammer arrived in Mekelle this morning.
Tigrai IRA President Getachew Reda welcomed the Special Envoy as he touched down at Mekelle Alula Abanega International Airport.
Amb. Hammer is in Mekelle to discuss the overall implementation of the Pretoria Peace agreement with members Tigrai Interim Regional Administration.
On 25 April, the U.S. Special Envoy visited Mekelle alongside U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson to meet with cabinet members of the Tigrai IRA.
U.S. is one of the observers of the Pretoria agreement signed November 2, 2022, between TPLF and the Ethiopian Federal Government.
