Mekelle, January 9 (Tigrai Television) – Government of Tigrai officials told Tigrai Television that they are discussing with the Federal government regarding the flight ban imposed on passengers aged 16 and above.

The restriction that has started on the 6th of January forced the suffering of people with different diseases, the disappointment of business owners, and for family members to stand apart more than two months into the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement.

Ethiopian Airlines employees have told passengers that the ban comes from the government. Asked about the issue, Tigrai government officials say they are not part of the restriction and that they are discussing with the Federal government to solve the problem.

Our effort to reach Ethiopian Airlines authorities was not successful.

Ethiopian Airlines has resumed flights to Tigrai’s capital Mekelle on December 28, 2022, after 19 months of suspension.
