Mekelle, Jul 6 (Tigrai Television)- Research conducted by Tigrai Health Research Institute reveals that 88 % of the population in Tigray suffers from lack of food.
Presenting the research this morning, researchers Ataklti Gebretsadik & Gebrehiwet Gebregziabher say the research was carried out on 1250 households in two zones of Tigray with 88% suffering from lack of sufficient food, and 51% of them lack of any kind of sustenance.
Both researchers warn about the long-term effect as infants and lactating mothers are also victims of the crisis.
They also highlighted the suffering of the malnourished children and mothers was aggravated after a pause on humanitarian assistance coming into Tigrai.
